Emseni Retreat

A day of quiet in my busy life.
It is food for my soul.

Many things to ponder over and great relief when I just once again realize that I do not have to do life on my own.
How gracious is the Lord to give me the opportunity to attend  this quiet time with Him
Thank you

Golden City Shooting Club

Saturday saw us out at Golden City Shooting Club again.

It's one of my favourite pastimes as you all know.

We had a really good shoot and Richard had some amazing scores.

I think all the finer points with our reloading is being sorted as on Saturday we only had one or two jams.

We shot with some real good shooters and what I love is that the shooters are always more than willing to help you sort out your faults and help you improve.

I need to work on my Grip. I start off correct and somewhere along the line - could be with the mag change - I change it.

Thanks to Peter, Colin and Alex. We loved shooting with you.

Golden City Shooting Club

Sunday was still cold but we had to go and shoot as we missed last months shoot when we went down to Thaba Nchu to the quad weekend away.

Most of the shooters take part on the Saturday of the weekend shoot so very few shooters pitched up for the shoot.

We felt a bit rust as we haven't shot for about 5 weeks I think but scores were not too bad.

The club is undergoing a major face lift and loads of sand is being brought in for new ranges as Golden City is going to host the National Championships.

I must say that they are jacked up in comparison to other clubs. They always have interesting ranges and the grounds are always well cared for.

I love shooting there.

Rhino Park Family - Adventures

After lovely weather the whole week we woke up to a freezing Saturday morning but this was not going to deter us.

We were going to go on our quad adventure for the day.

Once again Glenn Foley and his team put together an absolutely fabulous day for us.

The ride was completely different to the one we did in Thaba Nchu in August and we had to have our wits about us with all the humps and bumps and then the ducking and diving between the trees in the forest.

The lunch was finger licking good and we did not even think of the cold.

Thanks again Glenn

Reiger Park Primary - Hotdog Day

Nan's Quilts took a bit of a detour today.

We decided just to have some fun with some of the kids that visited the farm on a leadership camp last year.

We set up some hotdogs and coolies for them and just chatted about what had happened during the year.

We wish you everything of the best for High School next year.

May you be richly Blessed

Harleys - Cullinan

Once again I can not believe how blessed we are to be free enough to pursue what we thought were only dreams.
Yesterday on the spur of the moment we decided to arrange our own mid week breakfast run on our Harleys.

I have to get used to the highways and the longer distances so we planned out a route to Cullinan as it is not too busy but would still be a good exercise for me.

We have not been to Cullinan for about 17 years and memories of the town were very vague.

A bit of info about Cullinan:

Cullinan is a small town 30 km (19 mi) east of Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. The town is named after diamond magnate Sir Thomas Cullinan.

In 1898 Sir Thomas Cullinan was handed a three carat diamond found along a farm fence. He studied the area and came to the conclusion that the diamond was washed down from a nearby hill. Sir Cullinan made an attempt to buy the land from the owner, Joachim Prinsloo, but could not succeed. After Prinsloo's death, he was able to purchase the land for ₤52,000 from Prinsloo's daughter.

The Cullinan kimberlite was discovered in 1902 and in 1903 open pit mining commenced. The mine was named the Premier mine.

On 25 June 1905, the famed Cullinan Diamond, the largest in the world at 3,106 carats (621 g), was discovered by Frederick George Stanley Wells, surface manager of the Premier Diamond Mining Company. It was bought by the Transvaal government and presented to King Edward VII.

The town of Cullinan owes its existence to the diamond mining in this area, much like Kimberly in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa.

We enjoyed lunch at Harrie's Pancakes and once again loved our ride.

Rynfield Primary/Brentwood Primary Under 11 Hockey

Today took me way back in my life.
It must be a good 20 years or more since I stood next to the sports field like this.
I remember standing next to the soccer and baseball fields with Warren and Candice.
Also the Many years sitting on the stands at John Barrable Hall with the badminton.
I was a very proud Mommy. I still am.
This time though it was My granddaughter, Toria, that we were watching.
It gives me a thrill when they do well and maybe it is this very competitive nature that I have but I will for her to play well.
Just enjoy your game Pumpkin, you did great.
