Grand Kids Breaking For A Bite |
We decided to visit an old hiking ground where we used to hike about twenty years ago when we were getting fit for the Fish River Canyon Hike.
Suikerbos Rand is a Nature reserve a few kilometers outside of Heidelburg. It has beautiful rolling hills and way off you can see the zebra and different buck species.
The kids super excited and all the way in the car we just had chattering and loads of laughter.
We received a map of the different routes and after getting our gear in order off we went.
We had to keep calling them back on the first few kilometers - always being aware of safety and the last thing we would want is for one of them to get lost.
Carving Their Names To Leave On The Pile |
The further we hiked, the quieter they became. They certainly didn't realize how far ten kilometers was.
It was beautiful with some tough hills to climb out but well worth it. We have a beautiful country. Suikerbos Rand Nature Reserve is beautifully maintained and we can recommend it for a day out with the family.
I'm not sure if the kids want to do it too soon again but us old folk, we are tough and up to any challange
